Pilots Operating Handbooks are appropriate on airplanes having a certification basis of FAR 23 except Commuter Category.
This handbook includes the material required to be furnished to the pilot by the federal aviation regulations and additional information provided by the manufacturer and constitutes the FAA approved airplane flight manual.

Chapter 26 is entitled "Fire Protection", and is about those fixed and portable units and components which detect and indicate fire or smoke, and store and distribute fire extinguishing agent to all protected areas of the aircraft, including bottle, valves, tubing, etc., if furnished as manufacturer designated standard equipment.

The adjustment/test description shall provide instructions for accomplishment of a test or check to assure the integrity as an operational component of a system, subsystem or unit assembly. Such tests or checks will vary in complexity and stringency according to the conditions under which the unit functions. It is not intended that a complex functional test of a complete system and its attendant closer tolerances be performed if the unit replaced reactiviates the system and operates within the confines of a go-no-go specification .
Deactivation/Reactivation procedures for circuits, systems, units, etc., shall be included. This is important because during maintenance, certain components may need to be deactivated for safety reasons or to prevent damage to the aircraft or equipment. It is also important to have instructions for reactivating these components once maintenance is complete to ensure that they are functioning properly and do not pose a risk to the safety of the aircraft or its occupants.
The cooled air from the air cycle machine can no longer hold the quantity of water it could when it was warm. A water separator is used to remove the water from the saturated air before it is sent to the aircraft cabin. Foggy air from the ACM condenses and coalesces the mist into larger water drops in the water separator. The water collects on the sides of the separator and drains down and out of the unit, while the dry air passes through.
