Surge tanks found outboard of each main tank collect fuel overflow and fuel from the vent system.

It is not necessary to add oil to the starter after installation. But, you must supply a new starter with a small quantity of oil. Refer to chapter 12 of the airplane maintenance manual part II for oil quantity requirements and procedures.
