6.There are over 6 000 languages in the world today, but experts have published a study which predicts that more than half of these will become extinct within the next hundred years. They give three main reasons why these languages are in danger. One reason is invasion. Countries take over other areas where people speak a different language. This means that the people need to start speaking the language of their new rulers. Another reason is migration. This could be because of war, disaster or the search for work. When they move to a new country, these people need to learn the local language. Because so many people speak these languages, they have become the major global languages in business, films, music, and the internet.
